Piece 2 in the Nightmare Collection...

I am late for work again, the sky is a tepid yellow, sour and faded, the air is humid and wet as though it is breathing and exhuding sweat, nothing feels right but i cant put my finger on exactly what is wrong. as i walk towards work i take a wrong turn and the barren turns from residential estates to a barren field, in the distance creatures tend the trees and turn to look at me, they are not human however much they are similar, their skin is clammy dry and blue, stained from life within this filthy place, i see where i am headed a doorway to yet another world and i begin to climb a hill, it is steep and the footwork is quite tricky, partway through climbing the hill i realise that it is a mound of pigs corpses piled so high it reaches into the sky, i am disgusted, the smell and the feel of their horrid bodies beneath me, but i have to reach this door it is my only way out of the dream, i begin to climb the hill with hands and feet, i am getting blood all over me but i dont care, the stars shimmer to me from beyond the door in the sky and the creatures below me discuss their belief in my failure in a silent language of nods and gestures. when my eyes peel open i am in my room, did i make it through the door.. or is part of me still on the otherside
